The Summer Solstice has come and gone, and like everyone, the hottest month of the year required a bit more TLC than the rest. This list is going to be everything I used or hoped I had purchased to stay fresh this month.
Stella McCartney Ribbed Cotton Knit Dress. One of the biggest trends of this year is asymmetrical designs in tops, bottoms, and dresses. The style reigned on the runways this year and is finally appearing in stores everywhere.
2. Supergroup Unseen Sunscreen. I've been using this sunscreen for a year now, and it's my favorite one to use during the hotter seasons. It offers full coverage without the sticky residue or white cast of your common brand sunscreen. For all my people of color, this is in the Top 10.
3. Tatcha The Water Cream. This isn't the first time I've recommended this product and it probably won't be the last. I stand by how well this works with many skin types, it's oil-free and still very hydrating. I have sensitive combination skin and this product always leaves me better than I was before.
4. SIIU Collections ODI Dress. Another great staple piece that got me through graduation ceremonies. This double-layered nude midi has been essential for my weekend activities from day to night.
5. YSL Lash Clash Extreme Volume Mascara. For the price tag on this mascara, I'm happy to say it might just be worth it. I purchased this for Coachella in April but didn't use it regularly until this month and the wand not only coats curled lashes evenly but it doesn't smear throughout the hot summer day.
6. Design Essentials Formations Finishing Spritz. Coming in last this month but my favorite most recently is this affordable hair freeze that keeps my 4c natural hair slick all day. Even after a full day of activity and an hour of sweating in the gym, my hair is still laid.
